Apple Now Owns iPhone5.com

Apple has always been protective about their brand. This has always made them secure domain names which have their product names in them. Like, Apple already owns iPhone.com or iPhone4S.com, similarly iPhone5.com, which was registered by a fan that created a forum about the product.

Apple went ahead and filed a claim with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) to acquire iPhone5.com, which is the possible name of Apple’s next version of iPhone.

As per the report, “Apple has successfully won its dispute over the iPhone5.com domain, after it took its complaint to the World Intellectual Property Organization. WIPO recently posted to its website that the domain has been ‘Terminated’, with the domain owner expected to have relinquished ownership. The iPhone5.com domain is now being held by brand protection agency Corporation Service Company, which may have been used by Apple to take ownership.”

Few blogs are reporting that these measures are taken because the launch of rumoured iPhone 5 is nearing, and Apple is also hosting their annual WWWDC event next month. Lets see what Apple has for their fans.

Infographic : The Big Business of Apple

It’s been more than three decades Apple is in existence. And it was over 15 years ago when they were all drowned down, heading towards bankruptcy. It was the time when Steve Jobs came back and the rest is history. Apple Computers expanded its business by introducing an MP3 Player called iPod and then a Smartphone which is called iPhone. Both the products of Apple changed the industry forever. While these deceives still sell in billions of units, the company is making billions of dollars in profits. It has more cash reserve than the US govt.

Here is a very nice infographic which shows Apple’s remarkable growth and their revenue profit etc. You will know from where the money is flowing in.

iPhone is the Best Selling Smartphone in Japan

A recent report posted by Engadget states that Apple has sold over 7.25 million iPhone, which is almost 30% of the total Smartphone market in Japan, which means one in every 4 smartphones sold, there was an iPhone.

We already posted on our blog that Apple is Japan’s top consumer brand after Toyota. Apple Smartphones sales in Japan are increasing and so is the popularity of Apple products, while Android phones are available to give competition to iPhone. It is also to be noted that DoCoMo, which is the biggest carrier in Japan is not selling iPhone yet, which is liable to change anytime soon and if they do, sales are again going to increase for iPhone to over 10%- 15%.

The staggering number is for all the version of Angry Birds, Pad, Free and all seasons. One of the reason that accelerated the grown of this game was its availability on multiple platforms, be in Windows or Mac in computers or Android or iOs in mobile phones.

I’ve got it installed on both PC and Mobile. So, how often do you play it on Computer or mobile.

20GB Free iCloud Storage to MobileMe Users Till September

There is an interesting I read today on The Unofficial Apple Weblog. Last year Apple decided to shut down MobileMe and create a better service in the same area. The existing MobileMe users are being offered 20Gb free space on iCloud so that they can move to the new service without any problem.
The Free space will be given to all existing MobileMe users till September 30.

Apple’s FAQ page for the MobileMe transition was recently updated and now reads,

MobileMe members with 20GB of purchased storage receive a complimentary iCloud storage upgrade of 20GB, and accounts with additional purchased storage (40GB to 60GB) receive a complimentary upgrade of 50GB after moving to iCloud. These free upgrades are good through September 30th, 2012

Logitech Brings Solar Charging iPad Keyboard

Logitech brings an iPad keyboard, Solar Keyboard Folio which uses light to charge its batteries with a life of 2 years. You don’t need to be out all the time to get it charges as the panels, which are located outside the cover, can be charged indoors as well.

The solar folio keyboard is nicely designed to work in two positions to give better tablet browsing experience, one lets your take advantage of its keyboard completely for typing and the other position lets you control multimedia functions while listening to music or watching videos.

It works with both the iPad 2 and the new iPad. And it prices at $129.99 per set which is quite affordable looking at the fact that you won’t have to worry about the battery for two years. But those two years battery life claims comes with a testing of daily use of iPad for two hours, which means, if you are fond of your iPad too much and use it more than 2 hours, you are going to suck up the batteries in less than two years.

Watch Samsung Galaxy S III Full Launch Even Online

We share the news that Samsung galaxy S II has finally been unveiled at Mobile Unpacked event in London. The phone looks great and is the best Android phone in the market yet. We mainly cover Apple news on this blog but we keep an exception this time as this is the only one product which has come near to the competition.

Here is the full video of the launch event

Samsung has uploaded the entire even online. You can watch the video above.  The video is quite lengthy, about 78 Minutes and 40 seconds. SO make yourself comfortable before starting to watch.

Samsung Galaxy S III Unveiled

Samsung finally unveiled their most awaited mobile phone in Galaxy series, the Samsung Galaxy S III, and the key features are Quad core 1.4GHz processor and 4.8 Inch Screen. The phone weighs in at 4.7oz (133g) and its thinnest point measures in at 8.6mm. If we are to talk about other features, they almost the same as Galaxy Nexus, but with a 8 Megapixel rear camera and 1.9 Megapixel front facing camera. The phone comes with a storage of 16GB and 32Gb which is a start offering from Samsung Galaxy Series, the phone also has a Micro SD slot which NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, a GPS sensor, and Wi-Fi are all integrated. The battery has a 2,100mAh capacity.

The phones will be available on various carriers by the end of May in Europe and Americans will have to wait till June for it.

My view on phone is that it’s quite big phone with a screen of 4.8 inch but again, Samsung already had launched one with a bigger screen, the Galaxy Note, I think that was just launched to make people feel comfortable with the size of their phones. Smile with tongue out.
